Good Faith Estimate
Under the No Surprises Act (H.R. 133), health care providers are required to give clients who do not have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for services.
A Good Faith Estimates (GFE) is the estimated amount that private-pay clients and clients who elect to opt-out of using their insurance benefits will pay prior to receiving services. This way, as a client, you can be more informed about your decision about your mental health treatment.
Included in the Good Faith estimate is the an estimated fee per session. This amount is based on the type of service you are receiving. In addition, when applicable we will provide you with the estimated frequency of sessions so that you can plan for the duration of your treatment.
While Good Faith Estimates is designed for private pay clients, the GFE will include costs that are covered by your insurance provider. We will, however communicate an estimate of expenses that you’ll be responsible for including deductibles, co-payments, and other costs not covered by your insurance.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400.00 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill by contacting the healthcare provider to let them know the billed charges are higher than the Good Faith Estimates (GFE) and request the business to update the bill to match the estimate. If you have questions about your Good Faith Estimate, please contact us and we will provide this estimate based on your mental health care needs.
